Immigrant Mentor

The Littleton Immigrant Resources Center has two iPads that program volunteers may check out with a Bemis Library card. The iPads can be checked out at the library front desk for a maximum of two hours at a time and must stay at the library during that time.

The iPads have various apps and links to websites to help students study for their Naturalization exam. Below is a list of the apps that are included, in case students or teachers would like to download them to their personal devices. All items can be downloaded from the Apple App Store unless otherwise specified.

  • US Citizenship Test and Flashcards — Students can review the 100 citizenship questions and take practice tests
  • Citizenship — Another way to practice the 100 citizenship questions
  • USA Citizenship Test 2016 — Take quizzes to review 100 citizenship questions
  • CitizenshipWorks — This lets the user review eligibility requirements, study for the civics test, as well as English reading and writing

These training modules are designed to provide volunteers with a basic understanding of adult second language acquisition and the naturalization process, including the interview and test. This training is good for the new Citizenship Mentor who is unfamiliar with the naturalization process or a returning mentor who would like to refresh his or her memory. This site has 8 different modules to help those working with Citizenship students.

This is for those Citizenship and Language Partner Mentors who would like further professional development in teaching. This course has several different modules/lessons and participants may print a Certificate of Completion after they finish a module.
