The language partners program matches immigrants with a trained volunteer for individual classes. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' and volunteers’ schedules. We provide a fun and respectful environment to improve students’ confidence and English communication skills or get the help the student needs to pass the citizenship test.
ENGLISH – one hour/once a week – a volunteer will provide classes tailored to students who need to learn or improve their English Language skills.
CITIZENSHIP – one hour/once a week – a volunteer will provide classes tailored to students who want to study for the Citizenship test, helping with the Civics/History portion and with the English language skills. Students must be at least at English level 3 to be assigned to a tutor.
Thursdays, 12 pm - 1 pm: We have native English speaker volunteers to encourage conversation and practice of the language, creating a safe place to explore all cultural differences, and helping immigrants learn how to adapt to American culture. Open to immigrants and non-immigrants. No registration needed!
