One Book One Littleton
One Book One Littleton is an annual community-wide reading event. Each year, the Bemis Public Library selects a title and author, and encourages all members of the community to read the same book. The library provides opportunities to discuss the book, and engage with the topics it raises through programming and an author keynote.
Denver native Robert Justice's debut novel is a story of wrongful conviction, racial injustice, and a daughter’s fight to clear her father’s name. With undertones of jazz and the poetry of Langston Hughes, and set against a Denver that many of us think we know, They Can’t Take Your Name is a powerful elegy to the dream deferred that imprisons us all.
